State Candidates’ Views on Arts & Culture
Next week are the June 28th Statewide Legislative Primaries, Oklahomans for the Arts surveyed State Senate and Oklahoma House candidates about their positions on a number of key arts and culture issues.
Your interest in the candidate’s stances on arts and culture now can impact their future decision making. Your questions about their support of arts and culture can change the conversation during the election too.
All of the 101 Oklahoma House of Representatives are up for election this year for their 2-year terms.
In the State Senate, 25 seats out of 48 are up for election in 2016. The state senators serve 4-year terms alternating so that half of the senate is up for election every two years.
The survey covers candidates’ participation in arts and culture activities, support of the Oklahoma Arts Council, and support of arts education.
